O Grande Circo Místico. This show by the Balé Teatro Guaíra ballet from Curitiba has a soundtrack by Edu Lobo and Chico Buarque and was first performed in 1982. Songs from it that have become classics, such as Ciranda da Bailarina and Beatriz, will return to the stage in the musical that centers on a love affair between a circus dancer and an aristocrat. Those who cannot resist dancing to an electronic beat will feel at home in the Fosfobox night club, enlivened by DJs playing house, electro and hip-hop music. Lapa is a relaxed district where there are many bars and stages with live music. The Teatro Odisseia puts on a pop and rock program which makes it very different from other places in this area where samba and choro usually reign. The best of Brazilian music is found in places like Bar Semente (where there is a great jam session on Mondays), Carioca da Gema and Rio Scenarium.

Complexo Lagoon: The terrace of this leisure space on the shore of Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas lake will host samba shows and parties throughout the World Cup, including on June 12, 17 and 23 when Brazil take on its opponents in the first stage. Jockey Club: This racecourse will be the setting for the Parque da Bola where games will be shown during the World Cup in the afternoon followed by dancing for all tastes.
